CANAL presents an online exhibition:Renaud Perriches & Lindsay Lawson, curated by FetteFebrurary 24th - March 30, 2010CANAL is delighted to present a two person show of Renaud Perriches (French) and Lindsay Lawson (American) who presently live and work in Berlin. For this exhibition, Fette curated the work of these two non-German artists to relate to each other. She photographed one work of one artist, and then installed prints of that documentary photograph, (and additional art works,) into the studio of the other, and vice versa. She then photographed these installations in the artists’ studios and presented this as the gallery “space.”Displacement is a central idea in this exhibition: Los Angeles is home to Fette and CANAL. These artists works were made in studios to be presented in gallery settings, not in one another’s studio. This exhibition can only be seen online. Just as American artists flock to Berlin, Fette invades and ransacks these artists studios, making temporary shrines and documenting before dismantling them, then posting them to a guerilla art blog because she fucking can.
